UltraCareUltraCare is a premium surgical and day-to-day healthcare plan for those who want the highest level of coverage and flexibility. It includes cover (subject to policy terms and conditions*) for:
UltraCare 400 provides the same cover as the UltraCare plan, with extra cover for prescription glasses, prescription contact lenses and dental treatment. |
Shared cover plans
We have two shared cover plans: KiwiCare and RegularCare. Shared cover means you and Southern Cross each pay some of the costs of the healthcare services you receive.
KiwiCareKiwiCare provides members with a contribution of up to 80% of the cost of eligible healthcare services (subject to policy terms and conditions*) including:

RegularCareRegularCare, provides members with a contribution of up to 80% of the cost of eligible healthcare services and day-to-day cover (subject to policy terms and conditions*) including:

Additional cancer support
Cancer Cover Plus can be added to your plan as an upgrade of the chemotherapy for cancer cover under your base plan. This includes cover for both Pharmac approved chemotherapy drugs and chemotherapy drugs that are not Pharmac approved but are Medsafe-indicated.
Cancer Cover Plus is fully underwritten (pre-existing condition concessions do not apply), subject to eligibility criteria and is only available to purchase where all members on a policy are under 60 years old.
Wellbeing modules
Wellbeing modules can be added to the Wellbeing plans to access cover for everyday healthcare services. See the available Wellbeing modules on Wellbeing One and Wellbeing Two.
Extra cover options
Cancer Assist and Critical Illness plans can also be purchased with your health insurance plan (excluding HealthEssentials). Policy terms and conditions, including eligibility criteria apply. Find out more on the plan page for each of these plans.
